In Poughkeepsie, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in New York, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Poughkeepsie is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Poughkeepsie follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Terrible service from the workers, they are very despotic, they should be a little more friendly and help the builders. (Not all workers are terrible, some do help, but they are few. I hope they improve their service)

When it comes to hanging framed artwork, I'm pretty good. However, I met my challenge trying to display my canvas triptych. I spoke with John B. and Jude at the Lowes on South Road in Poughkeepsie who shared their opinions (and wit) in deciding what to buy to hang my artwork. I went with the ReadyNail Canvas Grip (10lb with bonus level included). Much respect to John, Jude and the rest of the staff at Lowes.

Not enough staff to care for all plants, however current staff are very friendly!

I went there to look for house plants. I couldn't find what I wanted, there were only the left overs. Will go earlier in the season next time.
